„ ... Beurtelings. Ingetogen. Sinister. Gedragen. Pastoraal. Kontemplatief. Dreigend. Vervreemdend. Droney. Spacey. (Free)jazzy. Arkadies. Beklemmend. Eng. Lieflijk. Troostend. Geëxalteerd. Woest. Zweterig. Hijgend. Gejaagd. ...“ (deRecensent.nl)

… „ (Organ – Journal für die Orgel)

________

'Quellgeister' are air-sculptures / compositions / dwellings for semi-ruined organs discovered in deserted saxon churches in Transylvania, a sonic-archeology focusing on individual characteristics of change, space and signs of migration within abandoned places.

The series is circling around the sonic content of periphery / center / time vortex / states / existence modulation / derangement

As screenings / imaginary sculptures, 'Quellgeister' re-contextualize the sonorous limit based on organic transformation of forgotten machines through time and conditions: a pre-modern future.

„Quellgeister #1“ was recorded in spring 2009 in the Romanian village of Christian. Surrounded by sheep, socialist remains and present day culture of what is called the rough east, the work was sculpted from air and movement to result in organic forms of invisibility. The used organ is in as bad a state as the church itself. It’s wooden mechanics are remains from the 18th century. I was undergoing a 2 weeks “airological-sound-research” at and around the organ to catch something analogue to a taste of whirling moments and states of mutual nothingness.

„Quellgeister #1“ is moving from what was once called music to slowly drone in a spring-swamp and is finally to speed up to a constant movement of several “in- and detonating” spacial directions sculpting the saw-tooth alike flashes of time.
